New Horizons at Boot Düsseldorf 2025: Trends and Technologies in the Water Industry

Share:

From January 18 to 26, 2025, the main winter event of the yachting industry is taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany – the exhibition of yachts, boats, equipment and gear for water sports boot Düsseldorf 2025. The largest pavilion bow show in the world is visited annually by more than 200,000 people from dozens of countries with a wide variety of interests in the field of water recreation. Considering that really large super- and mega-yachts simply do not fit into the pavilions, the emphasis is on small and medium-sized boats. However, in the most luxurious pavilion number 6, very large yachts are also exhibited – up to 100 feet (33 m) long and even more.

Most boat shows in the world take place on the water, and this is natural. Boot Düsseldorf is a big exception in every sense: the exhibition takes place on land and at the same time it is really huge.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, January 18th and will run until and including January 26th (Sunday). Doors will be open to visitors from 10:00 to 18:00, and the press and business participants of the exhibition can come from 9:30 with special tickets and accreditation.

The cost of a regular ticket is 21 euros for a one-day ticket and 36 euros for a two-day ticket. Purchased tickets are valid on any day of the exhibition. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the exhibition website www.boot.com, but registration is required when purchasing tickets.

In 2025, the organizers of boot Düsseldorf plan to place over a thousand boats at the exhibition – motor and sailing, of a wide variety of sizes and purposes, as well as much more – from equipment and water toys to services for yachtsmen and travelers.

How is boot Düsseldorf organized?

Boot Düsseldorf consists of 16 huge pavilions with a total area of 220,000 sq.m.: even if you just walk around them all, you will get a fairly long walk of many kilometers. Therefore, it is better to decide in advance what you are interested in and plan your visit. Each of the pavilions is allocated (if possible) for a specific “theme”, but it often turns out that the exhibits you are interested in can be located in two or three pavilions at once. For example, engine manufacturers can place their stands both near the boats and in the pavilion with equipment. Also note that the pavilion numbering is a bit confusing. For example, out of 16 pavilions, halls with numbers 2 and 8 are missing, but there are 7A and 17. So, what and where to look?

Hall 1 – the main “Southern” entrance to the exhibition.

Hall 3 – motorboats and small cruisers up to 10 m long. This pavilion is aimed at beginners choosing their first boat. Next to the boats are the stands of popular outboard motor manufacturers Honda, Kawasaki, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Yamaha. Hall 4 – mid-size motor yachts and cruisers. Also compactly gathered here are the stands of all Scandinavian shipyards.

Hall 5 – superboats: high-speed models, tenders and support boats for superyachts, as well as water toys.

Hall 6 – the most impressive and popular pavilion, where large yachts of the most famous shipyards in the world are exhibited: Sanlorenzo, Sunseeker, Azimut, Pershing, Riva, Ferretti, Princess, etc.

Hall 7 – gallery of marine art and photography.

Hall 7a – stands of shipyards building superyachts; studios of yacht design and marine architecture; manufacturers of materials and goods for yacht interiors.

Hall 9 – RIBs, tenders, jet skis, inflatable boats, water toys.

Hall 10 – equipment and accessories for yachts and boats, inboard and outboard engines Torqeedo, Volvo Penta, Yanmar.

Hall 11 – equipment for yachts and boats, clothing and accessories for yachting and water sports.

Hall 12 – everything related to diving.

Hall 13 – water tourism, recreation and travel: charter, cruises, houseboats and floating houses, travel agencies, hotels and resorts. Plus everything related to rowing: canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.

Hall 14 – marinas and yacht charter companies.

Hall 15 – cruise and sport sailing yachts and catamarans, sailing schools and associations.

Hall 16 – large sailing yachts.

Hall 17 – equipment and accessories for windsurfing, kiting, wakeboarding and other water sports. There is also a swimming pool here, where something is happening almost constantly: master classes from professional athletes, training, competitions and programs for children.

Thanks to a pair of inboard engines of 600 hp each, you can not only travel leisurely, but also rush at speeds of up to 50 knots.

Frauscher х Porsche Fantom

The Austrian shipyard Frauscher and the German car manufacturer present the second joint model of a boat with an electric power plant from the Macan crossover. This time it is a cabin boat Fantom. The new product develops a power of 536 hp and a speed of up to 90 km/h. The cruising range is about 100 km at a cruising speed of 40 km/h.

Sea Ray SDX 270 Surf

For Sea Ray, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the show will be the venue for the European debut of the SDX 270 Surf, the first Surf-modified boat to be built in Europe. The boat features a new signature design and is equipped with Sea Ray’s NextWave™ surf system, which includes ballast tanks and transom tabs to create a clean, easily transformable wakeboarding and wakesurfing wave. Sea Ray will also have more than a dozen different models from the Sundancer, SLX, SPX and Sunsport lines on display.

Hwila 25

The Swedish tender Hwila 25 looks like it was taken from a racing yacht from the beginning of the last century, but it is a modern boat, available with an electric or gasoline engine. The electric version is driven by an 8 kW motor, running on a power bank with a capacity of 14.4-28.8 kWh and is capable of traveling 30-128 nautical miles on a single charge at a speed of 4-8 knots, respectively. The version with a 20 hp gasoline engine develops almost 15 knots. The laconic helm station is equipped with a 9-inch Simrad display. The standard equipment of the Hwila 25 includes hydraulic steering, as well as glass holders.

Beneteau First 30

The French brand will present a new 10.33m yacht with a spacious and high saloon, galley and two passenger cabins. Thanks to the versatile sailing equipment, simple rigging and open cockpit, it does not require a large crew or intensive training to operate.

Marex 440 Scandinavia

The second version of the shipyard’s flagship model, which will debut at boot Düsseldorf 2025, offers two large dining areas on board and provides quick and direct access to the deck thanks to side doors on each side. In addition to the yachts and boats, Boot Düsseldorf will traditionally offer visitors a range of interactive experiences, including the popular Beach World attractions in Hall 17 and a 90-metre river kayaking track in the Paddling Zone.

The best yachts and boats will also be selected at the show according to the European Powerboat Awards.
