The new Pershing 140 surprised
The fifth hull of the high-performance aluminum Pershing 140 superyacht was launched on May 9 at the Superyacht Yard in Ancona.
The model’s signature features, such as the two large side “wings” integrated into the superstructure at the entrance to the side decks, are highlighted by a hull color that is unique to Pershing. Unlike previous silver-aluminum hulls, this one was painted a bright white at the owner’s request—a choice that echoes the light-toned interiors.
With two main decks and a spacious flybridge, the sleek silhouette and flowing lines of this yacht perfectly embody the brand’s sporty spirit. The layout has also been redesigned to suit the owner’s needs, particularly in the aft beach area, where the space typically used as a garage has been transformed into a relaxing and social area, complete with a bar. Climbing the steps toward the cockpit, you enter the first lounge area with sofas and armchairs facing a spacious sundeck. A few more steps lead to a second, more private al fresco dining area.
A glass door between the cockpit and the main deck saloon opens directly to the dining area, featuring a round table for eight, and a bar counter located next to it on the starboard side. The bright lounge area is furnished with a sofa and four armchairs facing the television. Moving further, you pass through the hallway leading to the guest cabins and enter the full-beam owner’s stateroom, with an L-shaped sofa and additional storage.
Also on the main deck is the raised pilothouse, which connects to the flybridge, decorated in the same beige and white palette, matching the overall mood of the yacht.
The lower deck is divided into four guest cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms and showers, and decorated in soft pastel tones. At the owner’s request, Pullman berths can be installed to increase passenger capacity: two cabins can accommodate up to three guests each, while two VIP cabins are equipped with double beds, one of which can be converted into two singles if needed.
The yacht also features additional relaxation and social areas on the upper deck and in the bow. The flybridge features a spacious panoramic terrace with a bar, comfortable sofas and ottomans, and an additional helm station with three chairs. The bow area, accessible through side passages, includes a lounge area with a Jacuzzi and a large sunbathing area.
The brainchild of architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group Product Strategic Committee, and the group’s engineering department, the Pershing 140 was built at the Superyacht Yard in Ancona, the Ferretti Group’s flagship shipyard specializing in the construction of steel and aluminum superyachts and megayachts over 40 meters.
Technically, the vessel is powered by four MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each producing 2,600 hp, paired with waterjets, enabling a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots.
