CRN Launches 70-Meter Custom Yacht Project Thunderball
On June 4, CRN launched its new 70-meter custom superyacht, Project Thunderball, at the Ferretti Group superyacht yard in Ancona.
The 70-meter motor yacht, named Project Thunderball, is the result of a close collaboration between CRN, the Dutch design firm Vripack Yacht Design, and the Italian firm Nauta. Vripack developed the yacht’s exterior design, preliminary architectural concept, and overall layout, while Nauta was responsible for the interiors and outdoor seating areas. Particular attention was paid to comfort and ergonomics.
The yacht has an overall length of 70 meters, a beam of 11 meters, and a gross tonnage of 1,100 tons. Four decks house the owner’s suite and five VIP cabins for 12 guests. The lower deck traditionally features nine cabins for 15 crew members.
The Thunderball project combines cutting-edge engineering, energy efficiency, and the highest level of customization. The yacht’s silhouette features a classic, elongated bow, a streamlined profile, and graceful lines inspired by sailing vessels, complemented by softly rounded chines. The interior design transcends trends and time, reflecting a deep connection with maritime culture.
The yacht is equipped with an energy storage system designed to more efficiently manage power onboard. The system is capable of smoothing out peak loads and ensuring silent operation at anchor, significantly reducing fuel consumption.
Sea trials and delivery of the yacht to the owner will take place shortly.
