boot Düsseldorf will not take place in 2022
Unfortunately, boot Düsseldorf was overboard for the second year in a row. On December 28, additional restrictions came into force in Germany, including on holding exhibitions. As a result of a meeting at which the situation with the pandemic was discussed, major events were banned in January. Boot Düsseldorf also falls under these restrictions.
North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann explains: “We must be especially careful now. The omicron virus is spreading in a way that we have not seen before. Therefore, we are obliged to act and prohibit major football matches and sporting events with spectators in accordance with the current Covid-19 Defense Ordinance. It is logical that in January there will also be no major public fairs with a large number of visitors from different regions and countries from all over the world.”
Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf: “In order for the exhibition industry to operate again safely for exhibitors and visitors, the pandemic must be overcome as quickly as possible. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that we must say goodbye to the boot exhibition in January 2022. ”
Earlier, a number of companies and leading shipyards refused to participate in the exhibition, so the number of pavilions was reduced from 17 to 13. But after the UK was declared a red zone, and it was assumed that Sunseeker and Princess would occupy the main areas, the fate of the show remained in question.
The next boot Düsseldorf trade fair will open its doors again from 21 to 29 January 2023.
