Cannes Yachting Festival 2021. First Results
The Cannes Yachting Festival was the first yacht show in Europe to reopen its doors after the pandemic, and it should be noted that this event went especially well. All 6 days of the Festival were filled with positive energy and enthusiasm, which were shared by both all participants and visitors. This year it also became a record in several directions at once. It brought together 575 exhibitors, where 620 boats were presented, including 141 world premieres! The event itself was attended by 54,400 visitors from all over the world. The Cannes Yachting Festival was able to successfully fit into this year’s challenging pandemic and offer a wide range of brands, new products, boat types and services. Despite travel restrictions that were introduced for some countries, the Festival welcomed not only a European audience, but also visitors from all over the world. This year, as well as the last time in 2019, the Cannes Yachting Festival took place on the territory of both ports: Vieux Port and Port Canto. “Our goal was to prepare and conduct the festival in the same way as in 2019, despite COVID, in terms of the number of participants, boats and visitors. If the total number of exhibitors (-7%) and boats (-4%) slightly decreased compared to 2019, then the number of boats presented as world premieres increased by 10%, while the number of visitors remained the same. We are proud and very pleased with these results. This festival presented a real challenge at every stage of its organization. We have constantly taken into account new organizational constraints in the course of legislative changes. The closer the opening date got, the more we felt the motivation, enthusiasm and growing impatience of exhibitors and visitors to meet again in Cannes. The 2021 event was incredible in terms of preparation and experience, both for them and for me and my team, it was an incredible experience. 2021 will remain unforgettable in many ways ”! – concluded Sylvie Earnoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival. The exposition at Vieux Port was completely devoted to the motor direction with more than 480 boats from 3 to 50 meters. In addition, a completely new space was created for electric or hybrid boats, where companies such as Boote Marian, Candela Speed Boats, E-Sense of Blue, Ecoline, Say Carbon Yachts, Vita Yachts and X-Shore and others were represented. There was also a berth for motor multihull vessels, as well as a test site outside the main exhibition, in order to facilitate sea trials of boats and make the Festival safe by moving boats around the show. So, it is quite obvious that the Cannes Yachting Festival was a great success, and very soon read a detailed report on all the new products and premieres.
