Marex 440 Gourmet Cruiser. Realization of a dream

Norwegian shipyard Marex has unveiled a new model that will be the first in a generation of cruisers with stunning design lines and innovative ideas. This model was called the 440 Gourmet Cruiser. About 14 meters of complete comfort for a large company.

The idea is to create a family boat where you can experience comfort, easy living onboard, and the feeling of a much larger vessel. The largest kitchen in its class, beach club next to the water, two bathrooms and a washer machine are examples of family thinking.

The Marex 440 Gourmet Cruiser is a new generation of cruisers with stunning design lines and innovative ideas. With a main focus on ergonomics, comfort and safety for the whole family, the new cruiser will impress you with practical onboard solutions.

The cockpit on the Marex 440 features a table with a U-shaped sofa. You can gather up to 8-10 guests for lunch or lower the table and convert the cockpit into a sunpad or sleeping berth. Increasing the seating area with an additional sofa on the opposite side is also possible. Alternatively, it can be equipped with a multifunctional BBQ space with a grill, refrigerator and icemaker.

Marex has created a chefs dream with an enormous U-shaped kitchen layout – the largest in its class.

It features an oven/microwav, double sink, induction cooker and dishwasher.  The solar panel provides enough capacity to keep the refrigerator and freezer running.

Thanks to its smart canopy solution, the Marex 440 can be enjoyed in both hot and cold climates. Close the sliding sunroof, then pull out the cockpit canopy curtains (hidden in the targa panels) and quickly fix them.

This solution allows the use of air-conditioning (or heating) throughout the deck, making the 440 Gourmet Cruiser suitable for every climate.

The 440 has two side sliding doors. This allows to get freedom of movement for the captain and passengers. Together with an open sunroof, this increases cruising enjoyment enormously.

The Marex 440 GC is designed with a planning hull. It ensures great stability, supe¬rior manoeuvrability and excellent high-speed handling. Using the vacuum infusing method and high-quality multiaxial fiberglass mats minimises weight and maximises strength. The hull has a reduced drag, which lets the boat cut the waves and go to planning speed with better fuel efficiency.

The Marex 440 GC can be equipped with a pair of Volvo Penta IPS, sterndrives or even shaft engines. Maximise the comfort with an optional large generator and gyroscopic stabiliser. The fuel tanks (2 x 595 L), water tank of 780 L, powerful batteries and solar panels make a boat perfect for extended family holidays.

The 440’s helm station can be fitted with three 12-inch or double 16-inch screens that monitor boat systems, engines and navigation. You can also find a few innovations here, such as an adjustable steering column and a unique hidden anchor system. Anchoring usually requires an additional crew/family member, but on the 440, it can be done by the captain alone, thanks to the camera mounted in the anchor box.

The Marex 440 Gourmet Cruiser is available with two or three cabin layouts. Choose a two-cabin solution with a generous en-suite bathroom in the forward cabin. The second toilet with a shower and washer/dryer cabinet is in the midship cabin.

Alternatively, a three-cabin layout, with two twin cabins in the middle and a shared bathroom.

The interiors of the Marex 440 Gourmet Cruiser are designed to the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.

Marex offers several interior finishes and materials, for example, modern light or classic dark walnut wood. Other visual and tactile highlights are the beige and pale grey surface finish.

Marex has brought the significant yacht beach club idea to a smaller size. Enjoy the proximity of the sea with friends and family in the large sitting area. Under the benches, you can find generous storage for mooring equipment or, for example, gas bottles for cooking.

A hydraulically operated swim platform makes lifting the dinghy/tender easier thanks to an optional integrated davit system. The platform also features a bathing ladder, making getting in and out of the water safe and easy.

The 440’s bow area features a large sunpad, ideal for enjoying the sun’s rays. For hotter climates, the area can be sheltered with a bimini top, and the mattress can be transformed into a comfortable sun lounger thanks to an adjustable seat rest. It also can be used as a watertoy, as the waterproof cushion floats and can carry several people on the water.
