The new Ferretti Yachts 940 has been launched
The first hull of the new Ferretti Yachts 940 has been launched at the Cattolica shipyard. It is the second longest yacht in the Ferretti Yachts Flybridge range. The boat will remain in Italian waters, which demonstrates the strategic role of the domestic market for the Ferretti Group.
The creators of the FY 940 call it a “sea home” because it is very comfortable for living on board and will fill any trip with unforgettable experiences. The new model is in fact the perfect combination of traditional design elements and a unique space where you can share convivial moments and relax with guests, enjoying the sea to the fullest.
The Ferretti Yachts 940 is the result of the collaboration between the Strategic Products Committee, chaired by Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The exterior styling is by Filippo Salvetti, while the interiors are by the design firm Ideaeitalia.
The main deck cockpit is furnished with freestanding furniture and offers incredible versatility of use. The glass parapet, also a feature of the Ferretti Yachts 1000, connects the entire aft area with the bathing platform, creating an ideal area for sharing experiences with family and friends.
The main saloon, measuring almost 30 square metres, is accessed from the cockpit via large sliding glass doors. This area of the main deck is decorated in the brand’s classic style, which uses warm tones in the decor and is designed to provide the owner with an elegant, welcoming and uncluttered environment. The main guest area includes a large living area, with an L-shaped sofa, a large television (concealed in a panel behind the sofa) and a central dining table for eight. The extensive glazing is a striking new feature, including floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining area, which flood the space with natural light, thanks in part to an external parapet designed to not obstruct the views. The floor-to-ceiling glazing has a sliding door, providing direct access to the starboard walkway. A corridor forward of the galley leads to the new raised pilot’s compartment, with a single-piece windscreen without a central pillar for improved visibility.
The 50 sqm flybridge with a bar and a fully equipped open galley is the perfect place to share lunches and dinners al fresco, enjoying the beauty of the sea.A very clever design rises above the flybridge – an innovative opening hardtop. The open area forward contains a large sun lounger, a large C-shaped sofa and a table.Wide passages provide easy access to the mooring area.
With an overall length of 28.97 meters and a maximum beam of 6.78 meters, this first wide-hull yacht in the range stands out with its five-cabin layout. The owner’s cabin is located on the main deck and occupies its entire width. The architects fully exploit the wide-body concept and, thanks to clever space planning, managed to create a cabin with incredible views of the water. In addition, the master cabin is distinguished by the use of the price of Silver Roots marble, which was used for the work desk on the starboard side and the bathroom in the bow.
Guest cabins are located on the lower deck.In total, guests will find three VIP cabins and one cabin with pull-out beds.
The first unit launched is equipped with two MAN V12 engines with a power of 2000 hp, allowing a maximum speed of 25 knots and a cruising speed of 21 knots (preliminary data).
