The long-awaited premiere of the classic sloop oldest Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman was expected since last spring, but in all its splendor yacht design which creates the best industry experts, appeared only after first trials off the coast of the Norwegian fjords.
«Wisp» -one of the most complex and sophisticated projects famous Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman. Naval architecture studio designed Hoek Design, which has a portfolio of more than a hundred yachts in a similar style, but it is working on a 48-meter aluminum «Wisp» became the first experience of cooperation with the Royal Huisman.
Impeccable classic di Zayn body parts and an abundance of wood contribute to the perception of the yacht as a timeless specimen naval architecture, eludes fashion trends, although the shipyard recognizes, what lies behind the external lines technology demanded enormous engineering effort. As a consequence, «Wisp» easily goes beyond just the original boat in retro style, and ability to compete on equal terms within the framework of the popular “Regatta for the gentlemen.”
Nautical – the strongest feature of the yacht Royal Huisman, shipyard, which is considered one of the oldest in the Netherlands and has a unique experience in establishing military courts since the late nineteenth century. Working on the design of the housing, experts Hoek Design managed to revive the traditional design-mated sailing last year and adapted yacht to all modern requirements.
Rounded feed and sharp nose, agility and smoothness. Everything points to the best of naval architecture and seaworthiness of the legendary martial sloops past. But there have been made and certain innovations: an upgraded architecture of the hull below the waterline or aft cockpit to the owner, aims to provide an atmosphere of privacy and comfort.
In addition to the body of aluminum and advanced materials used for the sails. The length of a single carboxylic mast is 57.5 meters. It can count on 236 m2 Only one genoa, not to mention the area of the main sail – 577 m2. The hybrid system works with sails and winches causes rapid response to increasing load change from the usual cruise mode to the elite races.
Evaluation of the technical capabilities and seaworthiness «Wisp» requires going to the open sea, but the
woodwork on deck admired even at first glance. From bow to stern deck is covered with teak. As soon as the towering superstructure in classical style and made of wood.
Navigation cockpit emit large wheel, which is conventionally inherit patterns of the past. In the process of its design selection takes place between completely wooden structure and up to modern developments of carbon fiber. However, as a result, it was decided to introduce the wheel with 20 spokes in polished steel and the main surface with teak. A similar scenario during the work touched and low bulwarks, but safety is ensured by robust stainless steel lifelines, which, in contrast to the multi-core cables, looks much ectetichney.
The front part of the deck was freed by moving the main halyard winches, sheet, and BOP in a special compartment adjacent to the engine room, where modern cameras allow you to monitor the work to tackle. Also, the front part of the deck is characterized by a special “pocket”, designed for the storage and maintenance of the 6.2-meter tender. Another significant element of the original cockpit and looks for the team right before the main mast. This area can be closed by folding bimini-top and provides a direct transition to the main cabin and cabins on the lower deck. Thus, the team can get started quickly with a gear and not to disturb guests during anchorage.
Forms and volume of the case «Wisp» will provide a vast space the designer studio Rhoades Young Design, create interesting interior spacious apartment owner and three double cabins for 6 guests.
The task assigned to the owner, expressed a desire to see the light interior with air and peaceful atmosphere, suitable for long cruises around the world. On this basis, the basic material became light oak tinted in the color of amber honey. This corresponded to the tastes of the owner and perfectly underlines the continuity of the grain in the tree structure. On the basis of the same principles used and light leather for the individual panels overhead.
At the same time for easy insertion of the applied contrast dark Wenge fabrics and high quality in a wide range of tones from color green sheet to ripe orange shades. Unusual table lamps made by Murano glass vases and unique handmade carpets evoke associations with Japanese tatami and have a unique softness is achieved only through the use of natural wool.
Disposition of the deck is comfortable and constructed-ene according to the principle of open interior. In the central part of the interior is combined with the superstructure and eye-catching large windows. A few steps toward the front lower zone of the second body moved a lounge with a comfortable dining area. There is already a classic maritime emphasized semicircular portholes retro. One of the guest cabins located in front of the deck, and two more – closer to the stern and the border with large owner’s suite. The latter perfectly illustrates the principle of a smooth transition from one zone to another. The special charm attached to walls, similar to the Japanese translucent shoji doors. It is for such sliding partitions, on the left side hides a bathroom, decorated with pale green marble varieties Costa Smeralda. From the bedroom semi-circular doors lead to more of the cabin with a domed Ceiling-com – it contains a library, and a dressing room. The final element of the architecture was the already mentioned private cockpit, which can be reached by just a few wooden steps directly from the library. Above the cockpit can be fitted sun top and has a special highlight. Built-in deck has a water-resistant coating sofa and wooden coffee table is height adjustable. From this area a beautiful view, in spite of the slight deepening of the cockpit.
Cabin crew (three double cabins) are located closer to the bow area, and even with the retro-style «Wisp», fully meet modern standards of comfort and safety.
Particular attention was paid to the engine room, which is performed by the owner in a full-length with maximum access to the power plant – one of Caterpillar diesel engine capacity of 715 hp Noise and vibration isolated as much as possible and do not interfere with recreation. An important technical detail became the concern for the environment. In addition to particulate filters are installed on board the special scrubbers that trap of exhaust harmful chemicals. And this is only part of the extensive list of modern equipment «Wisp».
Like many other projects the shipyard Royal Huisman 48-meter «Wisp» has an enviable seaworthiness. This yacht for long distance cruises in the ocean with special comfort. And in this case, you can still point out the special advantage – a romantic style of past centuries.
