BAGLIETTO ‘UNICORN’
With her release, she marked not only a confident and loud return to the world of superyachts, but also became a “bridge” between her glorious past and a promising future. The new Baglietto ‘Unicorn’ has managed to preserve both unique traditions and create new trends.
Also, internal spaces were re-planned and re-interpreted. The height of the bulwarks on the main deck was slightly reduced to improve visibility from the cabin. Tenders and hydrocycles moved to the bow of the upper deck, where the configuration of the above deck facilities was also changed to accommodate the cranes for launching the floating vessels. And behind the garage door now hides a gym, staffed with Technogym equipment and hammam. All these manipulations allowed not only to create a gym on board, but also to release the aft part for the beach club. Flexibility is present in the layout of all open areas. For example, on the main deck the dimensions of the open area are very impressive, so it is not surprising that there appeared a large sofa corner, a coffee table and a lot of pouffes.
The salon on the main deck is quite traditional in terms of layout: a spacious lounge occupies most of the space, followed by a dining room – closer to the bow of the yacht. Designer Francesco Paszkowski has developed an interior where dark vertical surfaces and light horizontal surfaces blend into one consonance. The abundance of glossy inserts, generously used in the decoration of ‘Unicorn’, only enhances this effect. A large mirror ceiling creates the illusion of a vertical portal, thereby giving this place some kind of solemnity and highlighting the dining room in a separate zone. Here is a huge wine storage cabinet, framed by a frame of metal and glass. Upholstered furniture and chairs were covered in velvet with light gray color, and it is perfectly complemented by stones of metallic color. In contrast to the “cold” steel finish, light carpets, whitewashed oak floor and milk ceiling create a cozy atmosphere, filling the interior with “warmth”.
The continuation of the theme of glass and metal is the elevator that connects the three decks of the yacht. Its transparent doors and walls, encased in massive metal frames, embody both lightness, dignity and reliability.
The accommodation of a master cabin on the main deck is a logical solution for a yacht of this size, and Baglietto ‘Unicorn’ width of 10 meters allowed to create spacious apartments for the owner. They are represented by an office-foyer with a work desk, a sleeping area, a sofa-lounge, dressing rooms and an incredible bathroom. A large double bed with end lighting is complemented by bedside tables of intricate shape with a steel base. It is not located in the center of the master apartment, as it is often found, but on the port side near the windows. All this in order to create in the central zone what is called in Baglietto a zone of relaxation. Round bed, fenced with a crescent-shaped screen, rising up and “diving” into a huge mirror on the ceiling. The location of such a relaxation zone was chosen not accidentally: from here the best view of the sea landscape opens. The owner’s bathroom, except for the ceiling, is dressed in black Spanish marble Nero Marquina. It is clearly divided into several zones and is equipped with a shower, a bathtub, washbasins and all amenities.
Entertainment and comfort on board the ‘Unicorn’ are given special attention. A striking example is the Skylaunge on the upper deck, where a huge screen and an abundance of seats create a full-fledged cinema that can accommodate a fairly large audience. Angular sofas, curving towards each other, outline the cozy space of the cinema. Skylaunge smoothly passes into an open-air area with a round dining table and sofas.
As for the highest level, sandeka – it’s an impressive 130 m2, which will be absolutely ideal for big parties. There is a bar and a dining room for 12 people, a large corner sofa and armchairs – all under the radar arch aperture. Also on the sandeck there is a solarium area around the pool with hydromassage. It remains only to decide on the theme of the party.
The yacht ‘Unicorn’ is built on a proprietary 53-meter platform that has been tested by time and tested in action. Nevertheless, Francesco Paszkowski nevertheless made significant changes in the appearance of the hull. This is particularly evident in terms of exteriors, which underwent a radical redesign. The windows of the captain’s bridge rushed forward, giving the silhouette of the yacht a completely different character. The radar arch was also modified and covered with sanddeck hardtop. The lines of the bulwark became more curved, and the portholes acquired modern outlines. At the same time the recognizable face of the ruler Baglietto has survived.
‘Unicorn’ is equipped with a pair of engines Caterpillar 3516C, capable of overclocking it to 16 knots, cruising speed – 12 knots. Active stabilization provides efficiency and comfort both on the move and during the parking.
The widest part of the lower deck is occupied by four guest cabins: 3 VIP and one twin. The design of guest apartments is consonant with the global decision of the upper levels and is in no way inferior to them either in decoration or in decor. Here the same materials are used as in the owner’s cabin: aged leather, marble countertops, lacquered silver and black surfaces, lots of mirrors and glass. In the bow of the lower deck – cabins and other auxiliary facilities for the crew.
