CHRIS-CRAFT CATALINA 34

If we take as a basis the ergonomics and comfort of a luxury day cruiser, the endurance and practicality of a fishing boat, the power and maneuverability of a powerboat and combine all this in one boat, then the output will be the Catalina 34 boat. show in Fort Lauderdale and is actively gaining new fans.

The length of the Catalina 34 is just over 10 meters, and its draft is only 66 centimeters. This allows you to go into shallow water, as well as withstand quite strong pitching. In addition, the shipyard traditionally offers a whole range of engines, the most powerful equipment is 3 Mercury outboard motors of 300 horsepower. With these characteristics, the Catalina 34 will be able to easily overcome the mark of 50 knots. Thanks to such powerful motors, the boat can instantly pick up speed, easily maneuver or move away from the coast.

In the bow of the boat, an arched sofa with a table can be transformed into a full-size solarium for a large company. To do this, they take out large pillows, and the table is hidden under the control post. This model is the largest in the Catalina lineup with a center console in the middle. Under it are placed not only the necessary amenities, like other boats of the same series, but even a small cabin. It is equipped with a double bed, a table with a washbasin and a toilet, and the height of the ceilings allows you to stand at full height. In addition, the cabin is well lit due to the narrow panoramic porthole.

Of the small interesting features: on the starboard side there is a dive exit – for diving into the water with a retractable ladder. The ladder, hidden in the floor, easily unfolds and makes the descent into the water even more convenient. There is also an audio system with a subwoofer and all the necessary navigation equipment on board. When climbing on board, it is pleasing that the deck is finished in teak and the furniture is trimmed with high-quality leather. All equipment is placed very ergonomically and compactly. The boat has special holders for fishing rods of various types, compartments for storing fish – freezers and a water tank. The designers managed to ensure that the boat was as versatile as possible, and its space was transformed for any task. For example, the aft part can be completely free, as all the furniture is laid out or transformed. Of the stationary pieces of furniture, there is only a stern sofa. But, as soon as a large company boards, a few extra seats come to the rescue of the sofa. The sofa area exists in three forms: the entire width of the hull, a corner or a U-shape, and a dining table rises from the underdeck space.

The entertainment center on the Catalina 34 features a great wet bar – barbecue, sink, refrigerator, storage boxes and the “freshness” compartment for fish, which was already mentioned earlier. The helm station and wetbar are covered with a hardtop, and the aft sofa is protected by a retractable awning. It is equipped with an electric drive and leaves at the touch of a button on the dashboard. The Catalina line of VIP fishing boats appeared a long time ago, and it immediately took a leading position in this niche. This is not surprising, because Chris-Craft first of all created high-quality fishing vessels thought out to the smallest detail. But at the same time, these boats are positioned for recreation with a family or a small company.
