RIVA 100 ‘CORSARO BEHAVIOR TRIUMPH

Many wonder why the recognized manufacturer of sports yachts depart somewhat from the accepted canons and represent a flybridge yacht. It would seem that it could be easier than building a yacht in a shipyard, which has long been specialized in the chosen yacht building direction. The answer is very simple: customers want to get exactly what the Italian shipyard Riva offers, and only Riva. And even if this is a somewhat risky experiment, the result in the form of Riva 100’Corsaro, for sure, will not disappoint.

Since this is still a semi-custom yacht, there are several options for planning the 100’Corsaro. This is the so-called Asian version, in which the mas- ter-apartments and two cabins are on the lower deck. On the main deck, in the bow of the yacht, a large media room with a full cinema and a karaoke club was located.
European version of the Riva 100’Corsaro, presented in Cannes in September this year, involves a 5-cabin version of the yacht, including the master suite. Three guest VIPs and one twin with twin beds are on the lower deck – each of the suites has its own bathroom, trimmed with marble Amani Brown. Thanks to the painstaking work of Mauro Micheli, in all the cabins there is no feeling of airiness and huge space due to the extended windows and the abundance of mirrors. The
Master apartments are located on the main deck, in the bow in the full width of the deck, which is 6.7 meters, and have panoramic windows that stretch along the entire space of the cabin. A large double bed occupies the central space of the cabin, on the starboard side there is a writing desk that transforms into a dressing table. A large dressing room is hidden behind a sliding door, disguised as leather wall panels, and is located immediately at the entrance to the apartment. It seems incredibly large due to the mirrors. Another interesting feature is the full-length bathroom, which is located several steps below the main level of the master-suite. She received an incredibly large shower room, a washbasin with a tabletop made of marble Magic Brown, imitating the texture of ebony.

And, of course, the entertainment center on the flybridge yacht, of course, is the upper deck – flybridge. In the bow is the second control panel, on the contrary – an additional sofa for guests. The middle part of the flybridge is covered with hardtop and there is a cocktail bar and another dining room for eight people.

The garage is supposed to store a tender up to 4.5 meters long and other water toys. In addition, this space on the Riva 100 ‘Corsaro can be partially flooded for easier descent of all watercraft on the water.
From a technical point of view, the new Riva 100’Corsaro offers two variants of engines: a standard set of two MTU M93s of 2,435 hp, providing a maximum speed of 26 knots and a range of 320 nautical miles at a speed of 23 knots. More powerful engines, a pair of MTU M94 to 2,638 hp. gives a maximum speed of 28 knots and allows to pass 300 nautical miles on 24 knots.

Any Riva, from the smallest to the largest yacht, has a special attitude to the areas of al fresco. When boarding guests meets the aft platform, where there is a full dining room in the open air, protected by a visor from the wind and the sun. Another large lounge on the main deck in the bow is a multi-level platform. A wide, almost full-width sandpipe and an extra sofa for a huge company are at the top level, and all deck equipment is located at the lowest level, so in terms of safety and comfort – it’s an ideal solution. All open areas can be covered with tension bimini top, creating a shadow on especially hot days. The
Tinted glass sliding doors lead to the salon, here uniquely, there is a lot of free space and light. This is not surprising, the continuous line of panoramic glazing fills this zone with a huge amount of natural light. All furniture and furnishings are inspired by the classic Riva traditions – an abundance of wood, leather and stainless steel. The large corner sofa Minotti, two armchairs Poltrona Frau, low leather upholstered coffee table with interesting details – such a cozy lounge in the style of timeless classics meets guests in the salon. The dining area is decorated with a Calacatta marble floor, and a dining table with a glass top. In general, the interior was very peaceful due to coffee and beige tones and small bright accents. Also, space does not feel overwhelmed. This is the advantage of Riva design.

The launch of this yacht was timed to coincide with the 175th anniversary of Riva, and the shipyard has really prepared something grandiose for such an event. It’s interesting that for the first time in the history of the shipyard the official premiere of Riva 100 ‘Corsaro was held not in the framework of European shows, but in Hong Kong at the Asia Pacific Open Days event. It really was able to win hearts on both sides of the ocean due to its excellent characteristics and unique features, for which Riva is so appreciated all over the world. The
Officina Italiana Design studio was actively involved in the project, which was able to take a fresh look at the classical style, comfort and technical equipment. In the new flybridge 100’Corsaro, the DNA of the Riva shipyard as well as the spirit and the “mood” of the Riva Domino and Duchessa 92 models, which occupy a worthy place in the history of the brand, are unequivocally traced. Despite the rather large size, as for high-speed yachts shipyard – fiberglass body 100 ‘Corsaro has a length of 29 meters – it remains all the same swift and graceful Riva.

Designers Riva did not want to depart from the main credo of the shipyard – the simplicity and elegance of the lines, while it was necessary to create something fundamentally new. Rapid contours and sporting character are emphasized by extensive glazing, noble body color with a dark metallic and carbon inserts. All this is complemented by chrome-plated air intakes, which extend along the line of the hull. The windows deserve special attention on this yacht. It seems that the superstructure is framed by a continuous panoramic glazing, only in some places there is a metal frame. In addition, the black color of the glass and the roof completely erases the boundaries and the superstructure is perceived as a single whole.
Despite the fact that the Riva 100’Corsaro belongs to the category of semi-series yachts, the shipyard still offers a quite serious level of customization. This becomes clear as soon as you step on board. For example, what only there is a unique gangway, trimmed with a teak with stainless steel handrails.
