CUSTOM LINE NAVETTA 38. New concept full-beam beach club.
The popular Navetta 37, created for the 20th anniversary of the Custom Line, is replaced by the Navetta 38 – almost 2 m longer and with a convertible beach club. With a new exterior and interior design and new standards of cruising pleasure, this sublime yacht – 38.76 m in length and 8 m in the beam with a displacement hull under 300 GT. The designer of all new Custom Line yachts, Filippo Salvetti, worked on the exterior, while the interiors were done by Antonio Citterio and Patrizia Viel.
Clean lines, harmonious contours and clear stylistic solutions create a feeling of calm strength, stability and confidence. The new model retains the traditional features of Navetta: a noble arrowhead-shaped profile, sloping through windows in the bow of the main deck, a spacious sundeck (15 m long, approximately 70 sq. m.).
The food has changed the most. Previously, all Navetta models were designed with a swim platform that went around the garage door, which served not only to comfortably launch the tender, but could be raised or lowered, creating a kind of beach club with a canopy. This approach was patented by the Ferretti Group under the name Dual Mode Transom. Last year, Filippo Salvetti presented the new Navetta 50, in which the main part of the bathing platform is covered on the sides by semicircular bulwarks with slots to allow fresh wind to penetrate inside. At the rear of the beach club there is another, additional folding platform (during movement it also serves as a bulwark). The side sections of the bulwarks of the Navetta 38 are lowered, and then the swim platform becomes larger than that of a 50-meter yacht! The aft sofa is raised to open the entrance to the tender garage.
The sundeck is the most informal part of the yacht, where you go up to soak in the bubbling water of the spa pool, sunbathe on a sun lounger with an adjustable backrest, and sip a cocktail on the sofa under the hardtop. The upper deck is divided between an open dining area with a table for ten people, a salon and a pilothouse with a captain’s cabin and a bow lounge. The walls of the skylounge are entirely glass, with thin black frames.
The forward seating area with sofas, sun loungers and tables is the best place to gather for a casual breakfast overlooking the sea.
The main deck, the calling card of the yacht, is quite suitable for a fun party or a formal dinner. Its layout is quite traditional. In the cockpit, they did not duplicate the dining area or sofa group (they are on the deck above), but moved four banquettes with headrests tied with leather straps closer to each other, and it turned out to be a chill-out. Let us remind you that just below there is a wide bathing platform with a sofa, and these two zones can be considered as a single two-level outdoor space. Its area is 70 square meters. m, the same as on the sundeck.
The main salon consists of a sitting area with a large TV and seating for formal dining. A large galley and a spacious pantry are designed next to the salon, so it will be convenient for the cook to cook for guests and serve meals to the stewards.
The bow section is reserved for the owner’s personal apartments. The bed is covered with a three-sided screen. The ribbed wooden ceiling, light flooring, white linen and walls covered in a rough linen textured fabric, wood and earthy tones all create a warm and cozy country house feel. Leading figures in the field of Italian interiors and furniture, Antonio Citterio and Patrizia Viel, are working on the concept of the interior spaces of all Custom Line yachts starting with the Navetta 30 (2021). The symmetrical bathroom is designed in warm colors. Flanking the shared wooden shower stall are his and hers washbasins and restrooms.
In plan, the owner’s apartment resembles the letter R turned on its side. The spacious bedroom is preceded by a corridor with a banquette and a dressing table in a niche covered with the same fabric as the screen at the head of the bed. The total area of the “master” is 40 square meters. m.
On the lower deck, four guest cabins surround the lobby. Right in the center of the hull are two VIP cabins, and closer to the bow are two guest cabins: one with a double bed and the other with two singles. The interiors of the cabins and their bathrooms are decorated in the same style as the owner’s cabin. The theme of natural light and generously flooded spaces, key to the design of the Navetta 38, can be seen here – the shipyard assures that they were able to cut into the hull “some of the largest windows on the market.”
The semi-displacement hull provides optimum seaworthiness and efficiency over a wide range of speeds and sailing conditions. With low fuel consumption and class-leading performance, the yacht is ideal for covering long distances. The standard equipment includes two MAN engines with 1,400 hp. With. They accelerate the boat to a maximum speed of 15 knots. The Ferretti Group assures that it will be possible to see first-hand the exceptional qualities of the Custom Line Navetta 38 next year, when the first hull is ready.
